Christmas Gifts and Cards

During the 1940s art students at Coronado High School made Christmas decorations for the U.S. Post Office and other community venues. Their teacher, Esther Painter Hagstrom, was something of a role model for this type of activity. Each year she made Christmas cards for her friends. Some of these creations were etchings and prints -- little works of art that were worth saving. Some recipients, such as Mary Ellen Wild Woodhouse Munckton, framed these gifts.
